Tenure Track Assistant Professor Positons

The Department of Computer Science (CS) at Texas Southern Universities is seeking to fill a faculty positions at the level of Assistant Professor (tenure track), starting from Fall 2017.

Qualifications: Candidates must have a Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a very closely related field, from an accredited institution, a record of research publications, a research plan showing the potential to secure external funding and to build a research program in their area of specialty. Candidates are expected to contribute to the department  both graduate and undergraduate teaching mission. Responsibilities include teaching, research, advising and professional service. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in Cyber Security, Big Data, Software Engineering, Operating Systems and Artificial Intelligence.  However candidates in other CS specialties will also be considered.

The CS Department (http://cs.tsu.edu/) offers a Bachelor of Science with general CS Concentration, a Bachelor of Science with Computer Networks Concentration, a Master in Computer Science, and a  Ph.D. in Environmental Toxicology affiliated with the Department of Environmental and Interdisciplinary Sciences. The CS Department currently has 11 fulltime faculty members, an enrollment of about 160 undergraduate and 50 graduate students, with significant opportunities for growth.

 

The College of Science, Engineering and Technology (http://www.coset.tsu.edu) brings together programs in the sciences, engineering and technologies at Texas Southern University which  provide students with a high quality comprehensive education, and make them competitive in a global marketplace with emerging technologies. These programs are offered in the Departments of Aviation Science and Technology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Technology, Mathematics, Physics and Transportation Studies.
